Whitening Your Smile Can Help You Get A Job

A Good Reason To Professionally Whiten Your Smile….

86% OF EMPLOYEES PLAN TO SEARCH FOR A NEW JOB IN 2013 according to Forbes. That’s a lot of people. If you’re one of them, you’ve probably polished your resume and ironed your best dress clothes, but have you whitened your teeth?

Research shows that people assess your competence and trustworthiness in a quarter of a second—based entirely on how you look. Professionally whitening your teeth is a great way to improve your professional appearance.

An Inexpensive Investment

Over time, your teeth can stain. Teeth whitening is an affordable treatment that removes stains regular brushing can’t take away. People with white teeth tend to smile more. A confident display of your grin can say a lot about your character.

Employers Judge You By Your Handshake And Smile

In the professional world, first impressions mean a lot. Showing that you’re comfortable and confident in a work environment can help you get the job. When an interviewer meets you, he or she instantly evaluates the way you present yourself. If you offer a firm handshake and a memorable, white smile, you’re more likely to impress.

Interviewers look for people who really want the job not just a job. A smiling face sends a strong message: you’re excited about the possibility of working with their company.

Companies Want To Work With People They Like

When asked why they hire certain individuals, companies often give two top reasons—they’re qualified and they’re likeable. If you’re qualified, all you need to do is show off your personality—and what better way to do it then with a big, friendly smile.

If you whiten your smile between now and June, not only can it help you get a job, it also helps a child in need.

A Better Reason To Whiten Your Smile…

Whitening Your Smile Can Make You Look Younger

A Good Reason To Professionally Whiten Your Smile….

PEOPLE OFTEN TURN TO MAKEUP OR SKINCARE PRODUCTS to reverse the effects of age. However, there’s more to a youthful appearance than a great complexion. If you want to look and feel your best, you can’t forget about your smile.

Teeth can start to turn yellow over time, even with proper maintenance. Whitening your smile is a good way to look younger.

A Whiter Smiles Leads To Greater Confidence

Think about the individuals in your family, friend, and coworker groups that seem youthful. What is it about them that’s different? More than likely it has something to do with how often they smile…or laugh. People who smile often appear healthy, positive, and full of confidence. If you have a dazzling smile, you’ll be happy to show it off.

Your Smile Can Be Your Brightest Feature

The color white is inherently youthful. A white smile can brighten up your entire face and makes you seem full of life and vigor.

Additional Tips For A Noticeable, Youthful Grin

  • Find the shade of lipstick that suits you. The right color will light up your face. Experiment at makeup counters!
  • Practice relaxing your jaw. A tight jaw inhibits facelifting muscles.
  • Spend time doing things that make you happy. You’ll look and feel better.

Smiling is natural but insecurity can get in the way. Let us professionally whiten your teeth so we can bring back your grinning bravado. Thanks to the Smiles For Life Campaign you can whiten your teeth, regain your confidence, AND help a child.

When Whitening Toothpaste Does NOT Do The Trick

A Good Reason To Professionally Whiten Your Smile…

More Often Than Not, Whitening Toothpaste Just Doesn’t Cut It

First off, you need to know this: tooth whitening and tooth bleaching are two different things.

Tooth whitening can rid your teeth of stains that come with your day-to-day life—things like drinking coffee or eating curry. The ADA’s Seal Of Acceptance for most whitening toothpastes states “The product is effective in helping to…whiten teeth by removing surface stains.” So what do you do when your teeth are stain-free, but they’re still not as white as you’d like? Well, that’s where bleaching comes in.

Tooth bleaching can make your teeth whiter than they would be all by themselves. Think of it like this… If your hair is covered in mud, you can give it a good wash and find a lighter shade hidden underneath the dirt. However, if your hair is already clean, you’ll need to use a bleaching agent to get it any lighter.

Tooth-whitening toothpastes have extra abrasives in them which scrub off stains. But remember that those abrasives can also irritate your gums, and wear down your enamel. In fact, most whitening toothpastes AREN’T meant to be used more than once a day! Check the label.

How Do You Know How White Your Teeth Are, Naturally?

Whitening toothpaste removes stains, but so do your regular cleaning appointments with our team. Take a look in the mirror next time you’ve had your teeth cleaned and polished—that is how white your teeth are. In order to get them whiter, you’ll need teeth bleaching.

Keeping Your Smile White And Bright

IMAGINE A BRAND-NEW, white t-shirt. Clean and bright, right? But how will it look after you wear it every day for a year?

Now imagine how it will look if you smear blackberries all over it—or spill coffee on it over and over again. Even after washing, the t-shirt will start losing some of its zip. Teeth don’t absorb stains like a cotton t-shirt, but they ARE porous, and they absorb the food colors you eat every day.

Sometimes, tooth discoloration is due to tooth damage or medications. It can also be a natural by-product of aging. However, MOST tooth staining is a direct result of the foods we eat and the things we drink.

Which Foods And Drinks Are The Worst?

Take a look at these top staining culprits. Some of them may surprise you.

  • Coffee (some studies show coffee will stain even worse than smoking)
  • Berries (including those delicious berry smoothies you love)
  • Bright-Colored Candies
  • Red Wine
  • Dark Sodas
  • Curry
  • Soy Sauce
  • Dark Fruit Juices
  • Smoking (we know it’s neither food nor drink, but it’s a top reason)

Remember that drinks can be especially problematic because we tend to sip them continuously. It’s a lot like bathing our teeth in dye.

Tips For Maintaining A Bright Smile:

  • Limit your teeth’s exposure to strong pigments.
  • Swish with some water after consuming any of the foods or drinks listed above.
  • Chew sugarless gum to clean your mouth after eating.

And, remember to brush and floss every day. Don’t give those stains a chance to set in and build up. Your regular cleanings with our team also help.

If you have any questions about keeping your teeth looking clean and white, ask us! We’ll help you decide on a solution to get your whitest, healthiest teeth.
